Afro Liv- featuring Nena and co

Wednesday, May 18, 2016

First off, can we just talk about O's crazy afro! All of a sudden, her hair decided to grow and there's no turning back. Today we are featuring one of my favorite companies, Nena and Co! They sell the most beautiful and colorful bags! They come in different sizes and there are so many different kinds, it can be hard to pick! Either way, they are all so pretty! They are a company based out of Utah and Guatemala. These bags are made by Guatemalan mothers whom work from home so they can take care of their families. I wear my bag with pride! They also have a kids section found here, with such darling dresses for girls! Olivia is wearing the Ava Summer dress- antigua, and I am absolutely obsessed with it!! She loved pulling on the tassels that comes with the dress, so I eventually had to take them off haha!
I absolutely love my bag, it has so much room and the perfect go-to bag when I know I need to pack a lot! If you don't own one yet, you need one in your life!!

Happy Hump Day!

You are doing better than you think you are!

Thursday, December 17, 2015

Last week was hard, emotionally hard. Who knew a toddler could make you cry and then laugh historically 5 minutes later. Although there were many ups, there were a lot more downs. Motherhood is hard you guys, real hard. I applaud all you Mothers for your strength, unconditional love and for being plain awesome!!! While I was struggling with my toddler, trying to understand him and his needs, I was also just having a hard time with myself. Having a hard time loving me, and feeling worthy of this "mama" title. All these thoughts were just weighing me down, there were lots of tears and lots of prayers. I prayed for guidance to know how to help my children the best way. Most importantly, I needed to find that love and strength within myself.
It's easy to compare yourself with other moms, and sometimes feel like you should be doing more. Trying to be like that instagram mother you follow that seem to live the perfect life. Here's the thing, your children loves YOU, just the way you are.
Elder Holland's talk came to my mind (which happens to be the talk of the week), coincidence?... Maybe... But I know this was inspired and I encourage every mother to read this talk often (here).

" To all mothers in every circumstance, including those who struggle—and all will—I say, “Be peaceful. Believe in God and yourself. You are doing better than you think you are. "

Those words were exactly what I needed to hear, I know this was the answer I was looking for.
I had scheduled a shoot with my new friend Becca (find her work here), but that morning started rough. I was frustrated with my look (mostly my hair) and felt insecure about our photo session. I wanted to do a holiday look, but not the typical (red, green, gold) look. I got this skirt and absolutely loved it, and decided to use it for my Holiday look. These pictures were a reminder to me to never doubt how strong I am, to be confident and to always love myself.
I shared one of these photos last week, and I got so many compliments from you. THANK YOU for making this girl grin from ear to ear. Sometimes you just need someone to smack you with a bucket of confidence, for you to wake up and look in the mirror and say "I'm sexy and I know it". I hope you enjoy the rest of these photos! Special thank you to Becca for taking these, and hooray for new friendships.

Home is where your heart is!

If you have watched the Tv-show, shark tank, these tees may look familiar to you. The Home T is a company that helps you show off your state with pride! They have t-shirts, tanks, hats, hoodies, and more for every single US state. There are also international designs, which include Africa, Canada, Australia, Mexico and France. For all you Disneyland fans, they've got you covered with t-shirts as well, because Disneyland is home for many... Let's be honest!! These shirts are extremely soft and comfortable, and made in the United States. I also love that they donate 10% of their profit to multiple sclerosis research.

Someone asked me where home was for me, and I honestly had a hard time answering. Most of you are probably thinking Sweden duuh, or Congo. Now that I have my own family, Utah is more like home for me. Although Sweden will always be home, a lot has changed since I lived there. I have lived most of my adult life in Utah, I got married in Utah, had two kids in Utah, so naturally Utah is now home. Plus who can resist those beautiful mountains!
My favorite holiday is coming up, and I am sad we won't be in Utah. I will proudly be wearing my Home T, if you're like us living away from home. You should get yourself a piece of home that you can wear everywhere!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING FRIENDS!

Sister sister: Featuring JAYKAIYCO

Thursday, September 17, 2015

Everyone is talking about how excited they are about the fall, and we're just here still dying from the heat. I hear once it cools down, it is amazing and we will absolutely love it. My sister came to visit us, and it has been the BEST!!! Last time we saw each other was Christmas 2013, so almost 2 years ago. I am in sibling heaven (if that even is a thing), and soaking up every moment with her. I mean look at her, Isn't she the cutest?

One of my long time friends started her own clothing company Jaykaiy. This has been a dream of hers ever since I have known her and I am so happy her dreams came through. She is such a hard worker and so talented in so many ways. You should definitely check her boutique out, and stay tuned for more items coming this fall.
Cecile is featuring her "track tee", she paired it with black skinnies and white shoes. We totally have the same style, my sister and I. I would've probably styled it the same way :)
I am featuring her "Grid Blouse", I went for a more casual look but you can definitely dress it up. I love the feel of the shirt, it almost felt like I wasn't wearing anything ha. This shirt is perfectly designed for warmer weather because of the light material and once it gets cooler you can always throw on a cardigan.

Enjoy your fall weather people, because the winter will soon hit you and I will be loving our fall weather ;)

Styled two ways- Yellow tribal tank

Tuesday, June 23, 2015

The weather here in Arizona is blazing hot, which makes it hard to go out and play. I find myself stressing about trying to find different activities to do with our energetic Noah.  I've learned that kids love the simplest things. Last night we went outside to look for lizards and watch the planes go by, and he had the biggest grin on his face.

Lately, I have been completely obsessed with the color yellow. Which is so unusual, because I often like to dress in darker colors. Today, Cecila and I have styled this yellow tribal tank top from pink blush. I love the bold print and the lightweight of the tank... just perfect for the summer! I paired mine with shorts, a t-shirt underneath and wedges (just to spice it up a little). I honestly thought to myself, (cecilia will be so proud of me wearing heels). I love how she styled hers, we definitely switched it up! Make sure you check out her blog for more pictures on how she styled her tank here .
